1) Summary
FreqGen is a tone generator and does not require an account or login.
The app does not ask you to enter personal data to use the core features.
The app may store basic settings locally on your device (for example last used frequency, waveform, volume, and favorites).
The app displays ads using Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). AdMob may collect certain data to provide, measure, and secure ads.
An internet connection is required to load ads and to use optional contact/feedback features.
2) Information the app may process
A) Information processed by the app itself (on-device)
The core functionality runs on your device to generate audio tones (1 Hz to 22,000 Hz) with different waveforms and controls (presets, favorites, waveform viewer). The app may store local settings on your device, such as:
• last used frequency and waveform
• volume and UI preferences (light/dark, haptics, visualizer on/off)
• up to 10 favorites (frequency + waveform)
This local data stays on your device unless you delete the app or clear its storage.
B) Information collected by AdMob (third-party)
The app uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob (and its partners) may collect or receive information such as:
• Advertising identifiers (for example IDFA on iOS, depending on your consent; or Android Advertising ID, depending on device settings)
• IP address (may be used to infer coarse location like city/region)
• Device information (model, OS version, language, network type)
• Approximate location (derived from IP, not GPS)
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, frequency capping)
• Diagnostics (crash and performance signals related to ads)
This data is processed under Google's own privacy policies and terms.
C) Contact & feedback (optional)
If you choose to contact us from the app (for example via a “Contact & feedback” option), we will process the information you submit (such as your message, and any contact details you include) only to respond and provide support.
3) How we use information
• To operate the app (tone generation and local preferences)
• To display ads and measure ad performance (via AdMob)
• To prevent fraud/abuse and ensure ad safety (via AdMob)
• To respond to support requests (only if you contact us)
4) Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Data may be shared with:
• Google (AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK) for advertising delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention.
If you contact us, your message may be processed by email or support tools used to handle your request.
5) Permissions & connectivity
The app uses:
• Audio output to play tones through your device speakers/headphones.
The app does not need microphone access for basic tone generation.
Internet connection:
• Required to load ads (AdMob) and to use optional contact/feedback features.
• The core tone generation works offline, but ads will not load without internet.
6) Device-dependent behavior and limitations
Tone accuracy and audibility depend on your device hardware and system settings (speaker/headphones, DAC, volume limits, EQ, Bluetooth codecs, etc.). Some frequencies may be quiet, distorted, or not audible on certain devices.
Any “speaker cleaning / water ejection” use is best-effort and not guaranteed. Results may vary by device.
7) Children's privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us and we will address it.
8) International transfers
AdMob may process data on servers located outside Switzerland/EEA, depending on Google's infrastructure and ad partners.
9) Data retention
• Local app settings remain on your device until you delete the app or clear storage.
• Ad-related data is retained by Google/AdMob according to their retention policies.
• Support messages (if any) are retained as needed to handle your request.
10) Your choices and controls (iOS & Android)
iOS:
• You can control tracking permissions (ATT prompt) and ad personalization via iOS settings, where available.
Android:
• You can manage your Advertising ID and ad personalization via Android settings, where available.
You can also uninstall the app to remove locally stored settings.
11) Legal bases (EEA/UK/Switzerland)
Where applicable, processing may rely on:
• Consent (for personalized ads, depending on your consent flow and region)
• Legitimate interests (non-personalized advertising, measurement, fraud prevention)
• Contract/necessity to provide the app's functionality (local operation)
• Consent/legitimate interests to respond to support requests (if you contact us)
12) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective date" will be updated. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
